EQ-i 2.0 

The EQ-i 2.0 consists of 133 brief items using a five-point response scale. It takes approximately 20 to 30 minutes to complete the EQi 2.0 online, but there are no imposed time limits. For the respondents not using mother tong, time is irrelevant. The EQ-i 2.0 is suitable for individuals 18 years of age and older.

 

The test is associated with performance and has applications in:

* Leadership development

* Selection

* Organizational development

* Team building

* Executive coaching

* Student orientation

 

High EQi 2.0 scores (above 100) indicate emotionally intelligent people, while lower scores indicate a need to improve emotional skills in specific areas. This structure is similar to the IQ test, which is divided into subscale scores that describe the various aspects of cognitive intelligence—hence the term “EQ” (Emotional Quotient), coined by Dr. Reuven Bar-On in 1985 to describe this parallel approach.

EQ-i 360  

While the EQ-i 2.00 identifies the level of a one’s emotional and social functioning based on his or her responses, the EQ-360 assessment provides a more in-depth analysis by having those who work closely with the person provide information as well. When observer ratings are compared with the results of a standard EQ-i 2.00 self-report, a more complete 360-degree profile emerges.

The EQ-360 is ideal for use in organizations where developing effective communication between individuals, teams, and the entire organization is crucial to success. The EQ-360 identifies key employee strengths that can be leveraged to the benefit of the organization, as well as impediments to high performance that could be improved. The assessment process can also be used as a follow-up to formal coaching and to measure progress.

The EQ-360 identifies areas for development based on the multiple perspectives of observer raters and the ratee. When used with key stakeholders in an organization, the EQ-360 significantly expands on the amount of information that can be collected with a self-report assessment alone.
